Great hands on view, thanks so much for sharing. While I’d agree that Time and GQ could be confusing initially, I’m assuming that they purposely went that route to create dual experiences. One being more like the actual magazine (with great art direction) and the other being more focused on the text.
Nice video Brad. Excellent way to get your feet wet in the world of video blogging. (much better than my 1st attempt.) This video actually got me really excited about the iPad. And that’s saying something, because I haven’t given in to any of the hype thus far. But seeing the possibilities with design and layout on the iPad really grabs me by the umm… elbows, and intrigues me to start making something for it.
I really like that this is an evolution of both the printed and online experience. The ability to view content in landscape or portrait is really cool.
As an designer I am excited by the possibilities on the iPad. It really is a whole new kind of online experience. I think we’re seeing a huge shift in the way information will be shared. Looks like we’ll need to get an iPad here at the office, strictly for development and testing purposes of course.
Great video Brad thanks for taking the time to put it together. I’m with Kyle in that I haven’t really given in to the iPad hype, but looking at these apps (especially the gorgeous Popular Science app) has really wet my appetite
While I think the current crop of apps is interesting – they have a long way to go before we really can say that publishers are using the iPad to revolutionize how we consume this sort of content.
